Here is a series of DIY solar panel building videos I found on You Tube. Once you know how to build any solar panel, you can design your own that will meet your needs.
There are 18 videos total in the series. There are 13 that are directly building the panels, and the last are Solar Panel Building School. Bookmark this page to make it easier to see them again.

People need two things to live. Food and Water. If there is no water available to drink, nothing else matters. You can have millions of dollars, but you would trade them all for a glass of water if it came to that.
This is one simple DIY water filter you can build and put in your bug out bag. It is cheap and will clean the water, plus you can carry spare parts without really adding any weight.
Remember, the filter will only clean the water, not purify it.
How do you purify water? Simple. Put it in a clear bottle and put it in the sun for a few hours, preferably on a hot surface such as a tin roof or even a rock in direct sunlight.
Enjoy.

Having been awakened to the problems of the world such as bank and government corruption that will ultimately lead to chaos, I have only been more recently awakened to this fact:
The ONLY thing that really matters is food and water.
Gold, silver, and other gadgets are all useless if you have nothing to eat or drink. Thus I have shifted to focus of my preps to things that either are food and water, or can be directly used to acquire them.
Portable power generation without fuel is now a priority, as well as obtaining cooking devices that can be run from it for things like boiling water. That lead me to look for ways to filter water when there is little available. What would I need to carry in ample supply to build a crude filter from scratch?
So the following things are now in my emergency grab it and make your getaway on foot bag:
2 – 2 litre bottles (filled when you leave, you will use the empties)
Cotton
Coffee filters
Activated Charcoal
Bag of small white aquarium rock
Bag of fine sand
You will also need a way to cut the bottom off of one of your two liter bottles, but you should already have that in the bag. It is also a good idea to retain a few of the smaller plastic bottles as you use the water they hold.
To make your filter, first cut the bottom off of one of the 2 liter bottles. It will be used as a funnel to run the water through the filter.
Next, take a couple of balls of cotton and plug the small hole in the top from the inside. Put in an inch of sand, followed by a layer of activated carbon, followed by a layer of aquarium rock.
Put a coffee filter over all of that and pour in the water to be filtered. Of course, have the other bottle or something else on the other end to catch the filtered water. This filter will make the water clear, but you should still boil it before drinking if possible.
I have built one of these, but have not tried it in the wild with something like river water or water from a mud puddle. That is my next step along the way in learning how to survive. I challenge you to do the same thing. Make drinkable water from water that is not drinkable and you will be far ahead of the masses that did not take the time to learn how, and actually DO IT, before it became a necessity. It may well be the difference between life and death.
When it comes to the ability to obtain water, you should learn everything you possible can. Even being able to do it on a small scale may one day save your life.
